Her Story – More Than Just Empanadas
Two years ago, I stepped off a plane from Venezuela holding the hands of my two little daughters… with my elderly parents by my side.
We had no home, no job, no plan other than to survive.
I found work as a hotel waitress – a tough job, but one that put food on our table. Still, I dreamed of something more.
On my hardest days, I cooked for my family. My empanadas – crispy on the outside, warm and full inside – reminded us of home, of Sunday gatherings, of a love you could taste.
Now I want to share them with you. Because these are not just empanadas…
They are a piece of my home, a part of my story, and a way to keep my family’s dreams alive.
